Antique Kerman Rug
About the Item
The sandy border has broken with light blue, pale red, pistachio and straw palmettes and petal-edged lozenges making their ways into the old ivory field with its floral sprays and flowering plants. Dark brown outlines both border and field motives on this SE Persian urban large scatter showing French influences. The pile wool is both resilient and silky/velvety, and is in good condition overall. The palette is generally light, with a wide range of subtly varied tones.
