Antique Mahal Rug with Dark Indigo Ground and Cream Field, Circa 1930's
About the Item
This very attractive and unusual village carpet shows giant botehs outlined with acanthus arabesques, on a dark indigo ground. Two botehs at the lower end have cream fields instead of the usual dark blue. Red strip style border of octofoil cartouches and octilobe rosettes in alternation. Slight wear, but fairly good condition.
