Antique Multicolored Heriz Runner

About the Item

This very well preserved NW Persian village runner features a dark blue field with a serrated hexagon vertically repeating pattern in red, camel, brown, medium green and medium blue. This pattern, now a pole medallion, originally appeared as a border design in the later 19th century on large carpets. The mid-blue main border shows rosettes and serrated, slanted leaves.
