Antique Persian Sarab Runner Rug with Ivory and Beige Tribal Medallions

About the Item

Antique Persian runner rug handwoven from the finest sheep’s wool and colored with all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for humans and pets. It’s a traditional Sarab design featuring medallion details in ivory and beige over a brown field. It resembles a tribal motif which makes it a beautiful piece for decorating contemporary and rustic spaces. It has a dimension of 3’3” x 13’4” which is ideal for hallways, bedrooms, living areas, and dining rooms. Sarab or Serab is a small village situated in Northwest Iran where a tribe of weavers specialized in handcrafting rugs with geometric and artistic designs. Unlike other rug making centers in ancient Persia, Serab was isolated from the influence of the booming rug commerce because of its remote location high up in the mountains.
