Antique Persian Sarouk Runner Rug with Navy & Ivory Flower Details
About the Item
Persian rug handwoven from the finest sheep’s wool and colored with all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for humans and pets. It’s a traditional Sarouk design featuring floral details using a lovely mix of navy and ivory. It has a pink center field making it a stunning piece for decorating modern, contemporary and rustic spaces. It has a dimension of 2’8” x 10’5” which is ideal for hallways, stairs, and living areas.
Sarouk is a small village in Persia close to Arak which is more popularly known as Sultanabad. Like other villages and towns at the height of Persian rug prominence, it also became a carpet making center. With high demand from Western countries, the city’s top designer Farahan stepped up to create ornate medallion patterns by combining elements from the majestic Tabriz rug and Sarouk weavers’ own distinctive styles. It resulted in a never-before-seen expression of grandeur through simple repeating elements. For this reason, there are two types of Sarouk rugs; the Farahan Sarouk and the regular Farahan.
