About the Item

This 7x12 antique Persian is a mid-century tribal carpet believed to be of Qashqai origin. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1910-1920, its design favors medallions and geometric patterns in red, beige-brown and gold. On the Design: Connoisseurs will admire this Qashqai rug as a rare work from this tribal provenance. The range of colors and graphic, sharply detailed geometry are seldom seen in similar tribal rugs—let alone in this large size (nearly a gallery runner). Keen eyes will further note the exceptional yarn and dye that achieves such rich and saturated colors within. These and many other traits all speak to an extremely collectible and special piece for this period and provenance. Condition: This antique Persian Qashqai runner further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
