About the Item

Originating from Persia in 1910, this antique traditional Senneh Persian rug enjoys a distinguished array of colorways in an all-over field pattern. Hand knotted in high-quality wool, the finely woven floral carnations in the field represent the garden of Eden, complemented by a rich palette of crimson and burgundy red, white, and pink against a unique blue and turquoise background. It is intriguing to see this very gentle, classical portrait framed by a more tribal middle border as well, portraying a wrapping alternation of royal blue and beige hand and evil eye motifs for protection between the mirrored Agra floral borders.
