Warm and inviting with Mid-Century Modern style, this hand-knotted wool distressed antique Persian Heriz rug features a large round center medallion anchored with delicate palmette pendants at either end. A variety of geometric botanical motifs surround the medallion in an intricate arrangement of palmettes, stylized florals, lotus blossoms, rosettes, leafy tendrils, and angular vinery are spread across the abrashed brown field. Angular florals and foliage are daintily woven into the corner spandrels outlined with stylized cloudband swirls adding visual interest. It is enclosed with a classic Herati palmette border flanked with an inner and outer floral meandering guard band. The soft hues combined with weathered striations dash across the field, enhancing the decadent beauty and understated elegance.
