About the Item

Kurdistan, Northwest Persia 12'4" x 18'3" - 375 x 556 cm circa 1900 This Classic Garrus Bijar shows a six row all-over pattern of reversing palmettes and U-shaped conjoint ivory arabesques, with smaller palmettes within on a subtle abrashed madder red field. The detail tones include: abrashed light blue, salmon, royal blue, and green. The narrow navy main border shows small palmettes on the sides, which narrow at the ends to cypress-like motives, with oblique fan palmettes in the corners. In excellent condition with a very compact pile. Unfaded natural colors.
