Magnificently decorative large scale oversized blue Oriental antique Persian Kerman carpet, country of origin / rug type: Persian rugs, date circa late 19th century. Size: 14 ft. 6 in x 28 ft. (4.42 m x 8.53 m) The beauty of this large scale all-over design antique Persian Kerman rug lies in its attention to detail. To start, the entire antique Persian carpet features a beautiful palette of colors that includes various shades of blue, brown and beige. The design layout of this antique palatial oversized carpet is extremely artful and was meticulously rendered. This magnificent antique rug has a series of 5 rectangular borders. These borders are comprised by one wide border that is flanked by two mirrored narrow guard borders. The outer most borders both feature refined floral patterns that are interconnected through a long vine scroll. The first guard border features a tan background and mostly blue line work. This plays off the other narrow guard border beautifully which features a light blue background and mostly brown line work as well as the main border which is an amalgam of both. This play on alternating colors and symmetry creates such a magnificent flow and soothing artistic impact. The expansive central field design has large circular palmetts are refined and elegant. These somewhat abstract large scale patterns are all interconnected by meandering floral vine scroll patterns that seem to flow seamlessly into and out of one another. In the foreground of the central inner design, many shades of brow, blue, and beige are used. These soft and soothing colors all subtly add to the overall complexity and beauty of this jaw dropping antique Persian Kerman carpet.
