About

Finely drawn scrolls of vegetal ornamentation are traced against the saturated ruby-red ground of this fine Bidjar carpet. The delicacy of drawing is accented in no fewer than three shades of blues and aqua. The palmette ornament of the central column is itself made up of mirrored, slate-blue, stylized lilies which alternate with smaller pendants. The refinement of the field is matched by a series of narrow striped borders.
