About the Item
This tan, camel, brown, and cream Persian flat-weave uses ancient Persian weaving techniques that are rarely seen in flat-weave Persian carpets. The overall effect of the warm and neutral colors creates an overall impression that brings life to a room, without being the center of attention. Nicknamed “Horizon”, this rug gets its warm, neutral colors due to the undyed, natural shades of hand-spun wool. Measuring 4’9” x 6’10”, this piece is perfect for most room sizes and styles.
Orley Shabahang works house to house, village to village with our weavers, working to preserve the art of weaving as a cottage industry, and implementing ancient weaving methods to create the antiques of the future.
Orley Shabahang continues to create carpets using the same steps and techniques utilized to create the fine Persian antique rugs that enchanted the world for generations. We continue to create carpets that are hand-knotted with handspun-wool. The wool our weavers use is still washed, dried, and baked in the sun exactly how carpets were made over a century ago. These steps are taken to produce a carpet not only beautiful in appearance but exemplary in quality that will last for generations.
