About the Item
This 5’ x 7' Orley Shabahang signature “Rain” carpet showcases a modern design in a hand knotted Persian weave in a unique amber and indigo colorway. The design, from the Rain series, features a simple pattern made from pure handspun wool and organic vegetable dyes that symbolizes all the shapes that rain can take in a cohesive overall design. Utilizing curvilinear and geometric motifs, the carpet takes inspiration from a number of traditional and contemporary design styles, while possessing a superbly contemporary feel.
Orley Shabahang works house to house, village to village, with our weavers, working to preserve the art of weaving as a cottage industry and implementing ancient weaving methods to create the antiques of the future. Using only the finest raw materials, such as wool from Persian fat-tailed sheep, these carpets are designed to be heirloom pieces for generations to come.
