This exceptional antique Sultanabad rug was made by Ziegler & Co. in the late 19th century. The center has an interwoven floral design in a rusty red, celery green and blue on an ivory ground. The rusty red border has celery and blue flowers with cypress trees. It was first acquired by Lord Iveagh for use in Elveden Hall located in Suffolk England. It has its original inventory label which reads “Purchased form Harvey Nichols in 1896." An important rug worthy of decorating a room around.
