Woven in India, this carpet features a classic Persian Lavar design, composed of the symbolic Herati motif, aligned in an all-over pattern. The Herati motif, represented by a small central floral medallion, is circled by four caterpillars. Metaphorically, the Herati motif represents the circle of life because both elements require one another for survival.
