Shiraz Rug with Boteh Medallions, and Red and Blue Coloring
About the Item
The knotwork boteh medallions of the four corners are repeated precisely in the singleton at the centre of the ogival dark blue main medallion dominating the red field with abundant floral sprays. Lion-headed striped columns reminiscent of Persepolis ruins run up the sides. Mahogany border of rosettes and floret stems. Wool construction. Good condition. Moderate/medium tribal weave.
