Tabriz-Marand carpet 50 Raj around 1970, signed by the weaver "Iradji" Marand is located in the northwest of Iran in the province of Azerbaijan. Marand carpets are so similar to Tabriz carpets that today they are marketed as Tabriz carpets.Marand is one of the big and important cities of East Azerbaijan province and the center of Marand city. This city is located 65 km northwest of Tabriz. The wool used in the manufacture of these rugs is very fine and of high quality, allowing greater precision in the details. Even the simplest rugs have a knotting density of around 400,000 knots per square meter, which is far more than most other Persian rugs. The precision of the details of these carpets is impressive. The quality of Tarbiz-Marand rugs has a very precise denomination, “Raj”, which corresponds to the number of knots in an area of 7 cm. The higher the Raj, the higher the quality and knotting density of the rug. Woven in the 1970s, this Caucasian rug design rug called 'Shirvan' features unique colors set with jewel-like geometric patterns. On a cream field with shades of emerald green and sky blue. An attractive design with a warm and stunning border.
