Tribal Malayer Rug, circa 1910s

About the Item

The slightly abrashed mellow rust field features a two way, five-column design of simple geometric palmettes in the Caucasian manner with small animals, birds and little botehs scattered about. The main ivory border shows a good rendition of the box, double bud and geometric flower tendril popular all-over Persia on village and tribal rug.
