:: Unusual size, scale, proportion and condition allover covered field in floral spray bouquets wrapped by an intricate palmette and blossom main border. Colors and shades include: Cherry red, ivory, navy blue, sapphire blue, sky blue, coffee brown, blush, gold, and more. Condition notes: Like-new, original full pile height even across. Original side cord selvages intact. Fully secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian American Sarouk carpet made in Persia circa 1940's vintage. Size measures 9' x 18'6". :: Cited measurements in description are accurate within a few inches of actual size for room size and smaller. Large and oversize carpet measurements may carry greater disparities depending on finishing process, and inherent variation found in hand knotted carpets. All cited measurements exclude fringe. :: This rug is among a handful of carpets offered for sale for the first time in over half a century from a prestigious New England collection. Sarouk carpets get their name from an obscure village in Persia, located twenty miles north of Arak (formerly Sultanabad). Over a short span of history, this village produced some of the most highly regarded antique Persian rugs from the late 19th to early 20th century.
