About the Item
Vintage Isfahan rug measures 4'10'' x 7'9''. Signed Sarafian, Isfahan From the top quality Sarafian atelier in this old central Persian capital city, signed in both Farsi and English, and probably destined for the American market, this extremely fine scatter shows a creamy-straw field with powerful coiled volute barbed vines (islimi) around an eight ragged lobed medallion within en suite corners. There are two layers of scrollerie with small palmette and flower accents. Ivory main border of petal palmettes. Velvety surface with a clipped short "Kurk" wool pile. Fine condition.
