Vintage Persian Hamadan Area Rug in Medallion Pattern in Moss Green, Red, Ivory

About the Item

A beautiful hand woven Persian Hamadan area rug in medallion pattern in moss green, red, ivory, and gray colors from the 2nd quarter of the 1900s. The overall design of the rug is considered “tribal” or “rustic”. The rug has a central medallion in a cream color set with a larger medallion in red with geometric designs and animal designs throughout. The addition of animal forms add to the charm of this village woven art. The rug has an abrash color spandrels that vary in shades of beautiful dark green, blue, and gray. The border is in a turquoise blue color which adds to the uniqueness and beauty of the rug.
