Vintage Persian Kashan Botanic Navy Brown Handmade Wool Rug by Doris Leslie Blau Size: 11'5" × 15'10" (347 × 482 cm) Kashan persian rug designs are revered for their complexity in design and weave fortitude in tapestry fabric materials. The open field of this antique carpet showcases an all over open field medallion of intricately dense millefleur design patterns. The field backdrop is colored black. Accenting this field is a dense latticework of spiral, labyrinth-like interconnecting patterns of floral branch shapes. The millefleur patterns are colored golden brown. Take note of the striated color variations throughout the tapestry, a natural consequence of weave techniques and dye use. The guard border features palmette designs, buffered by thinner borders inhabited by abstract linking designs.
