This hand knotted wool vintage Persian Qum rug features a medieval style depicting a lively pictorial hunting scene against a ruby red backdrop. The sense of flight is evident as Persian hunters on horseback wrangle beasts such as leopards and antelope with swords and spears. Violence ensues in juxtaposition with the beautiful floral and fauna that permeates the carpet field. Floral mounds extend from the cartouche border and into the scene. Rendered in variegated shades of ruby red, scarlet red, ink blue, navy blue, cerulean blue, brown, sienna, camel, taupe, ecru, tan, sand, beige and light pink.
