This vintage 5x6 Persian rug is a rare mid-century Gabbeh piece that originates from the Qashqai tribe. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1950-1960, its design plays medallion and all-over pattern style together in a bold tribal fashion. The upper medallion hosts a pictorial that resembles a goat or ram—an uncommon feature only select tribal provenances enjoy. Keen eyes will further admire how the field plays all the colors together in a meticulous way—rich brown, teal, burgundy and countless others—a meticulous feat that exemplifies the personal beauty in Persian rugs.
