Antique Karabagh Black and Red Wool Floral Runner Floral Pattern by Rug & Kilim

About the Item

Originating from Russia in 1900, this hand knotted antique Karabagh Persian runner features high quality wool and a unique colorway. Though the finely woven guard, central, and innermost borders wrap the runner with un-betrayed repetition, the symmetric field design set against the bold black background has unique, solely vertical symmetry among Persian runners, further emboldened by the dominant red and green colorways complementing the additional tribal hues of blue, golden-yellow, and off white surrounding the portrait.

This traditional style features a black background on which sit roses in pink, yellow, blue, red, and green with leaves of a bright red. Three borders appear on this antique Russian rug...
