Mid-20th Century Swedish Green Hand Knotted Wool Rug

About the Item

Mid-20th century Swedish Green Hand Knotted Wool Rug Size: 8'7" × 11'2" (261 × 340 cm). This stunning vintage Scandinavian rug was woven in the mid-20th century, circa 1940. Comparing to most Swedish rugs its design seems very minimalistic, however this is balanced out by an exceptionally rich color palette. Lively shades of red and orange are contrasted with subdued green and beige, resulting in a wonderful composition. The pattern of this vintage rug features an open field framed by an elegant Art Deco border, decorated by a Greek Key design. Geometric form of the pattern looks surprisingly modern, considering rug’s actual age.
