This 10x14 Swedish Kilim rug design is from the flatweaves in the Scandinavian rug collection by Rug & Kilim. Hand-knotted in wool, its design is inspired by Rollakhan and Rya rugs in the Swedish Deco style. On the Design: Beige-brown, gray and yellow tones underscore geometric patterns in the Swedish minimalist style—these particularly inspired by Scandinavian rugs which went for an abstraction of Turkish motifs in the most interesting way. Our high quality yarn lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. The choice of colors, too, explores their retro feel in a more refreshing quality. This particular rug enjoys horizontal block patterns in varied shades of blue with various playful accents. It’s a thoughtful use of distinct, yet complementary hues that lends mid-century chic a fabulous new look and feel.
