Handwoven in wool and hailing from France circa 1890-1900, this 11x12 antique Aubusson flatweave and round rug is an exciting addition in the Rug & Kilim Collection. An extremely collectible tapestry-style piece of this provenance, its design enjoys detailed floral patterns in bright pink over beige.
On the design:
Connoisseurs will admire the half-oval shape of this semicircle rug as a particularly rare find among works of this period. Its colorway further enjoys a delicious, warm cream tone among many accents in the field, border and open-field medallion.
