Antique Spanish Carpet in Yellow Green, and Lavender, accent colors of medium green and light blue, Keivan Woven Arts/rug / TRA-6052, country of origin / type: Spain / Spanish, circa 1920's Measures: 8'9 x 13'5 This elegant antique Spanish carpet is the proud heir to a long tradition of rug-weaving in the Iberian Peninsula, which dates back to the late Middle Ages. Its circular medallion format can be traced back to Timurid models introduced to Islamic Spain in the 15th and 16th Century Spanish carpets. The floral detail and circular motifs are interpretation of mosaic work of Roman Empire.
