About the Item
Hand-knotted carpet in France, in the town of Cogolin, with a brown background color and a stylized design. It has two small repairs carried out by professionals.
Founded in 1928 by Jean Lauer, the Manufacture Cogolin experienced significant growth from the 1930s onwards. From handcrafting to weaving on 19th-century Jacquard arm looms, the Cogolin carpet is recognizable for its unmatched elegance in its raised floral and geometric patterns and its lively range of colors. It holds a prominent place in French heritage, owing to the richness of its historical and cultural legacy and the skill of its artisans.
