Early 19th Century Neoclassical Medallion Aubusson Carpet

About the Item

A remarkably well-preserved and richly colored Neoclassical period early 19th century carpet. A burgundy and cinnamon field is bound by a melon border with floral and acanthus meander. Bouquets in each corner surround an octagonal medallion with laurel leaves and garlands. France, c. 1825
