Also available in colors: Brick/Ecru, Black/Gray, or Gray/Blue/Ecru. Custom sizes are available. A simple design that hides a very complex touch of overlays and heights. Inspired by the brick sunblind since the epoch of the Persian, it also takes a romantic meaning in history. But the romantic meaning of these millennial architectural structures takes from their word: “gelosie”, which literally means jealousy. Very beloved from the nobles of once they allowed to listen, and to look at people and secrets outside, without being seen, thanks to the reservation of the shade, created by the structures. Gelosie is a 100% top-quality New Zealand wool rug that features a complex overlay that plays with hundreds of segments balancing them by different yearn’s heights that let sometimes come up and sometimes hide the background of it. Gelosie will come soon in different color combinations. Made with the tufting technique, with 100% New Zealand top quality wool. Yearns and manufacture are certificate as handcrafted exclusively in the Italian atelier. /Ge-lo-sì-e/ literally means ‘jealousies’. In the Italian language “gelosie” are the sunblind, very common in the Mediterranean countries. A+N is a material research and design studio founded in 2014 by Alissa van Asseldonk and Nienke Bongers (Eindhoven, NL), after having met at Design Academy Eindhoven. We stand for high-quality pieces that add value to a space. Working with both craftsmen and the high-tech industry, we design innovative materials, objects, and installations for (future) interior architecture, that trigger curiosity and interaction while speaking to the senses. Collaboration is key. We work with production partners that offer the highest quality materials and techniques, and who are willing to reset boundaries with us. We aim for long-lasting relationships with our partners, creating knowledge and new opportunities together. Due to our widely extended network, we are not limited to one material or technique but always aim for the best possible option/solution for the design.
