'Glow' Rug in Abaca, Colour 'Mahogany' by Claire Vos for Musett Design
About the Item
Claire Vos is a multi-awarded textile designer and Art Director at Studio Roderick Vos. She is also the designer of the Glow rug, hand-woven in 100% abaca fibre. Abaca is often called a super fibre for good reason. It is the strongest plant material known to man and therefore perfect for rug making. It needs neither artificial irrigation nor chemical fertilizers. It is 100% biodegradable and its long root system prevents soil erosion. The weaving process is almost entirely manual and needs very little electric power. These great eco credentials are matched with great design characteristics: it has a fabulous subtle sheen; its natural colouring ranges from white to ebony and as here, it also takes coloured dye perfectly.
