The new collection designed by Deanna Comellini, UltraNative, epitomizes the desire to experiment with the evocative power of shape and original, archaic and primordial patterns.
The unique feature of the collection is the "Native format", in exclusively employed by G.T.DESIGN. It is the fruit of intense research into innovative shapes, inspired by indefinite geometries that are open to free interpretation.
UltraNative is expressed within this unique, unusual and fluid context, lying somewhere between an amorphous circle and a deformed rectangle.
Thanks to these ‘undefined’ boundaries, the pieces in this collection polarize the space and draw the eyes with the unique power of eidetic shapes, or rather, things that remind us of something else or that refer to images observed elsewhere.
Made in polyamide, UltraNative impresses an intense image on the fibers synthesizing the gestures intrinsic to the primitive graphic sign.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
In 2022, Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy.

Deanna Comellini, Creative Director and Founder of the Italian company, combines craftsmanship and modern manufacturing technologies to produce unique and luxurious products with an unparalleled attention to detail. With an obsessive quest for color trends, top-quality natural materials and high-performance technical yarns, she perfectly blends nature, light and color into her collections. Giving the weaving process a modern expression, she made textiles and modern carpets an essential element in interior design. Comellini’s creative process focuses on yarn and textile research and experimentation. Natural fibers, such as linen, coconut, bamboo, pure wool, hemp, silk and natural derivatives such as Tencel, are an essential element of her design and processing methods. An example is the Coconutrug, G.T.DESIGN’s first patented rug, handmade with precious coconut fiber, ideal for areas with heavy footfall. She also uses modern technical yarns such as viscose to give an incomparable sheen and color depth to the Kama rug, among the company’s bestselling products and a trend setter in the industry. In addition, she works alongside international architects and interior designers on custom made rugs for residential and commercial projects.
