Breathtaking Vintage Geometric Scandinavian Runner by Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavia Rug, Circa Date: Mid- 20th Century – Size: 2 ft 10 in x 9 ft 1 in (0.86 m x 2.77 m) This ultra modern and chic Scandinavian vintage runner rug is by Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg is just as exciting today as the day it was woven. This mid century modern rug is a stunning example of the simplicity and elegance of the Scandinavian rug style. The most visually beautiful part of this design is the contrast between the more neutral color that makes up the majority of the Scandinavian runner rug and the brighter horizontal bars of color. The elegance of this design lies within the simplicity of it. The long, thin runner shape is contrasted by the horizontal nature of the stripes of color. The color choices in this Scandinavian runner rug are very interesting as well, due to the fact that some of the colors are repeated and some are used only once. This creates an interesting visual play between the ends, which are more symmetrical, and the center which features two different colors. The asymmetry of these colors means that there is no true visual center in the design, making it extremely unique. The bright bars of color stand out beautifully against the main ground color, and the color choice utilizes both warm and cool tones.
