18th Century Light-Grey Swedish Gustavian Pair of Antique Pine Armchairs
About the Item
A light-grey, antique Swedish Gustavian pair of armchairs with a loose seat cushion, made of hand crafted painted Pinewood in good condition. The curved shield back of the Scandinavian club chairs have an oval padded backrest particularized by a gadrooned frame and is surmounted by foliate carving. They are composed with slim, arched upholstered armrests, standing on four tapered wooden legs. Wear consistent with age and use. Newly upholstered in a cotton fabric with a Vichy checker pattern combining dark-blue grey and light-grey. Circa 1780, Sweden, Scandinavia.
