Antique French Louis XVI Pair Of Armchair, 18th Century
About the Item
Superb pair of hand-carved Louis XVI armchairs with openwork backs and comfortable seats.
The front legs are sculpted and fluted, the armrest uprights decorated with acanthus leaves, and the entire belt is finely beaded. The backrests, admirably worked and openwork, make this pair a rare set.
All the codes representative of Louis XVI are used here, such as ribbons, garlands of flowers, pearls, acanthus leaves and rosettes and grooves.
The fabric coming from a Parisian publishing house is new, and the structure, solid, is in very good condition for the period.
