Casa Quieta
Casa Quieta is a handmade furniture & accessories gallery that promotes local manufacturing by merging artisan techniques with contemporary design. Our gallery is located in Carlos Dickens 33B, Polanco. We open by appointment only. The gallery concept is to show a fully furnished and accessorized shoppable home where everything can be bought. As opposed to the bustling context of modern metropolis and the busyness of the digital era, we believe in creating everyday sanctuaries that result in places of stillness and refuge. Our selection dynamics operate through an organic curation of our favorite pieces. We seek to show contemporary design only, handmade in Mexico with artisan processes. All the furniture is our own design and for accessories we seek to collaborate with designers that complement and combine with the universe and aesthetics of Casa Quieta. Casa Quieta was founded by Maritza Lara Cáceres and Daniel Cruz Maldonado. Since 2015, they direct Casa Mineral.

Located in PARQUE INDUSTRIAL OTHON P BLANCO, Quintana Roo
The armchair has a simple and very lightweight structure. Its clean lines, with smooth and rounded edges, blend with the meticulous handwoven pattern. In this handwoven fabric, crafted by a family of artisans from Bacalar, Mexico, the "partridge eye" technique is used with cotton or nylon thread.
The design of Cocom armchair draws its inspiration from the wicker rockers and armchairs traditionally woven in Yucatan. Nowadays, this tradition is fading away, along with the art of hand-weaving chairs. That's why the intention behind the design of the Cocom collection is to remember and reclaim that heritage.
This piece merges tradition with modernity and elevate craftsmanship to its highest expression in terms of attention to detail.
