Art Deco Bent Oak Small Armchair Upholstered in a Teal Cloud Form Fabric

About the Item

A wonderful Art Deco steam bent oak upholstered small armchair. Circa 1930. *Free delivery for all areas in mainland England & Wales only. Delivery to room of choice by a two person team. Items are left packed. Please contact me if you require more delivery information. Return delivery costs are met by the customer. The chair has been reupholstered in a fabulous Art Deco cloud-form fabric from Loome, described as lyrical Japanese Deco design. The teal pattern has a lovely shine, changing to a darker blue in some lights. The oak has been sympathetically re-finished by hand in a light sanding sealer, and has a smooth waxed polished finish. It still retains a few light authentic marks to highlight its genuine heritage. The bending technique has left a few stress marks in the surface to an arm. This is natural from the process and it is not damaged. (photograph 6) The chair is very sturdy and solid. The inside seat width goes from 40cm at the back of the seat to 45cm at the front.
