BICAchair is a sustainable stackable steel dining armchair made from recycled and recyclable steel, finished with our premium selection of powder-coating colors, in this case in Black, that transforms a Classic in something new and vibrant. The upholstery of the seat and back is handmade with a FSC certified plywood and high-density foam and covered with natural cork fabric. Cork is an organic sustainable material that is highly durable, lightweight, naturally insulating, hypoallergenic (doesn’t absorb dust particles) and it is impermeable.
This eco-friendly Material has recyclable and renewable capabilities that are handcrafted to create naturally stunning and unique textures and patterns. Cork has always been a part of Portuguese culture and it’s a natural eco-friendly practical solution for comfort, warmth and the environment. A sustainable indoor dining chair that combines an unquestionable aesthetic with a superior level of comfort, resulting in a one-of-a-kind chair.
In our Cork Collection, the natural wood tones, warm and soft textures make cork a unique feature in our chairs, making it eco friendly, comfortable and inviting.
And the metallic color finishes in the chair’s recycled steel structure add a deluxe touch, creating an elegant atmosphere that feels right for every space.

Since its birth, in the 1950s, in Portugal, it has inspired a whole generation of young architects, designers and artists and, to this day, it is still considered the absolute terrace Queen, a part of our national identity.
BICAchair has revived the history of the iconic Portuguese Chair, a symbol of national culture, that is now reborn, by the hands of Alexandre Caldas, with quality standards never achieved before, focusing on its design history and ensuring its legacy with an international ambition.
With a modern twist, BICAchair reinvents the chair to live indoors, bringing the typical Portuguese spirit of well-being and getting together, into our homes, in a more intimate and personalized way. We believe that objects with a longer lifespan and well thought design, have a more positive environmental impact.

A New Chair with 70 Years of History BICAchair is a Portuguese furniture brand, born in 2014, that aims to give back the vitality and importance of the traditional Portuguese design chair created in the streets of Lisbon during the Mid 50’s, by bringing it inside our homes and spaces, respecting its origin, history and the environment. We elevate the Portuguese Chair and their versions into collectible pieces of history that gain value throughout time. We believe that our conviction, coupled with the irreverence of our clients who do not opt for the obvious and who care about the future, will be the key to create a new chapter in the history of this piece ensuring its legacy. As a brand, we specialize in designing and producing furniture pieces mainly created in recycled and recyclable steel, giving it powerful and premium finishes that can be customizable by our clients.
