About the Item

Playful and iconic, Birdy is a chair created by artist and designer Alix Coco. A surprising sculpture with a strong spirit, Birdy blurs the boundaries between art and design, form and function. Birdy is designed to be comfortable and ergonomic. Its large seat and back are both inclined and Birdy's wings are high armrests. Birdy is hand-carved in the artist's workshop. It is made of French fir wood and has a matt oil finish. Each Birdy is unique and signed. The type of wood and finish can be personalised on request. Birdy is available in different colours. Alix Coco aspires to create a world where each object is as unique as human being. She sculpts to instil spirits into objects throught movement and charactere. In the woodshop she developed an intuitive approach to give birth to her personal mythology inspired by medieval sculpture, cartoon culture and folk art.
