Caeté Armchair
About the Item
{ organicity } Organic and enveloping lines endorse the design of the Caeté Armchair. The name rooted in the Tupi indigenous language is the guardian of the concept based on the translation “dense forest”. The nature connection design conveys warmth and protection. The volume of the backrest and sides evokes the sensation of a symbolic embrace by the treetops that make up the green mantle of untouched forests. Lightweight, the forged aluminum base is coated with the subtlety of nautical tape and retains the perfection of the unhurried artisanal process. Interlaces that weave a textile pattern nestled in the ancestral art of basketry.

Sergio J. Matos
Sérgio J. Matos, 43, born in Paranatinga, a small town in the state of Mato Grosso, specializes in authorial design, furniture, objects and scenography. He has been performing this function for 12 years, but professionally, since the opening of his studio in 2010. The fact that he was born in a region close to the Xingu indigenous reserve, surrounded by the natural diversity of the forest, learned early on to be curious to know , admire and observe this culture, which awoke and stimulated him to look for ways to work with these natural materials and colors extracted from nature.
