Elegant French Art Déco Macassar Veneered Armchairs Beige Colored Velvet 1930s

About the Item

Pair of very elegant and early Art Déco armchairs with Macassar veneer. The narrow and long armchair with the cleverly designed front impresses with its details. The front is slightly rounded towards the front and ends with a small shoe. The rear legs point backwards like a sabre. The choice of veneer is even and calm, the Pierre Frey velvet with its dry cotton feel complements the high-gloss surface perfectly. The armchairs have been completely reupholstered, varnished and covered with a new fabric. Please see the photos of the original conditions.

    Located in Salzburg, AT
French Art Deco center table in forged iron with mustard colored marble top. This exceptional table by Malatre et Tonnelier is a handcrafted work of art and an absolute eye-catcher. The table is octagonal and the 4 curved legs end in a volute at the bottom of the base. A net-like structure of stylized Art Deco flowers and vines. form the table frame and the 4 table legs. This art work is bordered with a smooth 1.5-2.2cm wide iron band. The top edge of the table frame is fluted and blends stylistically with the fluted florals and bands in the frame and legs. The heavy mustard yellow marble top has a light grain with black, gray and beige veins - the edge is rounded. Documentation: Le fer Forgé (Wrought Iron) by Henri Clouzet, France, Albert Morancé...
