Eugene Schoen Pair Armchairs by Schmieg Hungate and Kotzian c.1929

About the Item

A pair of American Deco (Moderne) rosewood and mahogany armchairs in early (if not) original upholstery, designed by Eugene Schoen (1880-1957), and manufactured by Schieg Hungate and Kotzian, inc, 1924-1933. A settee from the set is illustrated in: Alastair Duncan "American Art Deco" page 46. And an armchair and an identical side chair is in the collection of Yale University Art Gallery.
