Fine Antique 1878 Presented from the Church Chesterfield Brown Leather Armchair

About the Item

We are delighted to offer this one of a kind, fully restored, Victorian Chesterfield Library Armchair with Sterling Silver presentation plaque from the Church A wonderful antique Victorian armchair with one of a kind presentation plaque. The chair itself is what’s called a show frame Victorian library armchair, its named as such because of how ornate it is, they were designed for exhibitions and the frames were ornately crafted in luxury timbers to show off how talented the craftsman were. This one has been fully restored to include having the leather washed back, hand dyed and antiqued six times, sealed, waxed down and polished again, the timber has been lightly French polished and the castors replaced with a correct Victorian Porcelain suite The plaque is sterling silver and reads as follows:- Presented to Mr Edward Taylor, in appreciation of the services graciously rendered by him in the decoration of Sion Chapel Whitechapel Road London April 1878, J Thomas B.A Pastor Dimensions Height:- 100.5cm Width:- 72cm Depth:- 88cm Seat height:- 43.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF.. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
