Italian Inlaid Folding Chair

About the Item

An “X”-frame folding chair with curved arms and legs joined by a central working pivot and standing on sled feet. In walnut with good rich color and bone inlay decoration. Substantial presence. Italian, circa 1700. These chairs are sometimes referred to as Roman chairs or Renaissance chairs due the form’s long history.
