French velvet fabric by Sabina Baxton.
Provenance: Christies, sale number 9214
Rococo polychrome painted armchair from Venice.
Silk velvet damask upholstered seat.
Incurved acanthus-carved crest-rail and pierced asymmetrical rocaille splat above a bowed seat.
Cabriole legs.
Painted overall with floral clusters, largely redecorated.

- Condition:Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Small age cracks on the top rail, one in the wood and some cracks in the paint, paint refreshed, some wear and isolated minor chips. Structurally sound.
