Mid Century Modern vintage pair of armchairs from beech designed by Franz Schuster, model Altheim, 1950s Vienna for Wiesner-Hager.
Company´s label is underneath the seat.
Very good condition, the surface is refinished
Franz Schuster Austrian architect and designer.
He visited the Kunstgewerbeschule guided by Oskar Strnad and Heinrich Tessenow.
His job history ranged from self-employed architect in Hellerau ( from 1922 - 1923)
till guide for the specialist class for furniture design (1937-1963).
He was at the Kunstgewerbeschule the follower from Josef Frank (1926-1927) and Josef Hoffmann (1937-1963).
Worth to mention is also that Franz Schuster was the professor for Applied Art in Vienna.
