About the Item
Rare modernist armchair with ottoman, in solid oak, by Guy Besnard, for Freespan model "FS 134", France 50’s.
Oak structure, with openwork armrest and high back. The upholstery has been reupholstered and the fabric cover is high quality. The seat and backrest have been completely restored. A simple system (2 simultaneous brass buttons on each side of the bottom crossbar) tilts the backrest into the relax position.
The line of this armchair recalls the design of Jean Prouvé. Indeed, Guy Besnard and Jean Prouvé have worked together on many projects.
Signed piece Freespan.
Very confortable and elegant.
