About the Item

We are delighted to offer this sublime and highly collectable (part of a suite) new old stock George Smith Signature Scroll Arm Aztec Kilim armchair with oversized feather filled cushion. This chair is as mentioned part of a suite, I have two of these with different colour kilims, no two kilims are the same of course, and the matching large Regency style Bluster or Bulster arm sofa. These came from pretty much the finest English country house estate I have ever seen in real life, Longstow Hall, it has the most picturesque grounds in such a wonderful setting. The suite was bought by the owner of the estate and set in his wonderful restored cottage which he never used, as such these pieces sat there and have stayed in retail new condition throughout This piece is just about the finest armchair available to buy today upholstered with vintage Aztec Kilim upholstery which is as “English Country House Fine” as you can get This model of chair almost never comes up on the open market as they are all kept in the family, they are amazing. The cushion is overstuffed feather and down filled, it is enormous and recess under the back rest which means your never sitting edge of the cushion so you don’t sink. Condition wise as mentioned its new old stock, it might have the odd tiny mark in the legs from transport or storage but otherwise its perfect Dimensions each Height:- 85cm seat height 49cm Width:- 83cm Depth:- 103cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
